On the weekend I posted on my social media pages about a cardboard spaceship costume the kids and I made using an umbrella, some cardboard and Makedo screws. Since then I have had so many enquiries from people who want to make the cardboard spaceship for halloween. I decided to do a quick post about how easy it was to put together with dimensions and links.
What we used to make the spaceship (Amazon links)
Blade https://amzn.to/3X4Zsvb
Metal ruler https://amzn.to/3XrAcRl
Clear Heavy Duty tape https://amzn.to/3XtRu0j
Single walled Cardboard
Makedo Kit https://amzn.to/3yZJTNB
Kids size 37" clear bubble umbrella https://amzn.to/3TbL7fi
Steps:
Using single walled cardboard cut out 8 panels (using the dimensions in the below diagram).
Score the panels where the dotted lines are indicated.
Punch holes along the side as indicated below (using the provided tool by Makedo)
Join the panels together with the Makedo screws (using the provided tool by Makedo)
Place over the open umbrella and secure with clear tape.
Easy as that!
